Del Monte Philippines was filed with a civil case before the Manila City regional trial court by Sulpicio Lines after Del Monte failed to declare as toxic the endosulfan chemical that was loaded into MV Princess of the Stars that sank last June 21. Del Monte failed to inform Sulpicio that they were carrying a toxic substance therefore violating the breach of term and condition. It was Del Monte’s responsibility to declare to Sulpicio that the cargo was toxic. Sulpicio is asking from Del Monte P5.5 million in damages over the alleged negligence of Del Monte.
Question is why didn’t Del Monte declared the cargo toxic? Well let’s wait how this civil case goes.
