The Mamma Mia 2008 movie stars Meryl Streep who plays the role of Donna, an independent, single mother who owns a small hotel on an idyllic Greek island. Her spirited daughter she raised all on her own named Sophie played by Amanda Seyfried, is getting married. For Sophie’s wedding, Donna has invited two of her lifelong best girlfriends - practical and no-nonsense Rosie played by Julie Walters, and the rich, multi-divorcee Tanya played by Christine Baranski - from her one-time backing band, “Donna and the Dynamos”. But her daughter Sophie also has secretly invited three guests of her own as part of her quest to know the identity of her real father who should walk her down the aisle on her wedding. She then invited three men, one of them is the handsome Pierce Brosnan, from her mother Donna’s past to the Mediterranean paradise they visited 20 years ago. New love will bloom and old romances will be rekindled on this lush island full of possibilities over the next 24 chaotic, magical hours as shown in this seemingly fun movie. For one thing the movie is musically exciting and inviting. So let’s watch it and relax.
H mentioned this morning that he saw Mamma Mia now showing at NCCC Mall Cinema. This is one of the movies we have been waiting for this year as we often see the trailer whenever we watch a movie at NCCC cinema during the break in between. Hmmm seems like a nice and fun movie but for me not really a priority but if we get the chance this afternoon or this week then why not. Seeing the NCCC movie schedule for this week, I see another movie I’m more interested in and one of the movies we also wanna see, Brendan Fraser’s Journey to the Center of the Earth.
