Beijing 2008 Olympics: flower festival in Hongkong

Good luck to Team Philippines for the Beijing 2008 Olympics! President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Manny Pacquiao left for Beijing today, Thursday at 5:30AM together with their small entourage including the First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo. To follow them on separate flights are Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco and also Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chair William Ramirez, who I used to see in school way back in college. He is a teacher and basketball coach in our school then.

Presidet Arroyo will have a dinner with the Philippine delegates Thursday. Then there is a lunch with the delegates on Saturday, August 09, 2008.

The president will be among other world leaders who will be attending the opening ceremonies of the Olympics tomorrow August 08, 2008 at exactly 8 minutes after eight o’clock in the evening so it will be the lucky date for Chinese 08-08-08 at 8:08 PM. All the luck 8 numbers!

The president also promised a whooping P15Million reward to the delegate who can bring home an Olympic gold medal which we never had for the past 84 years. Again good luck to the RP Team delegates may you bring home an Olympic Gold this time! Go for Gold as they used to say!
