Michael Phelps’ 7th Gold Medal

Wow Michael Phelps continues to amaze me as he gets his 7th Olympic gold medal in Beijing. He beats Milorad Cavic of Serbia with a new Olympic record time of 50.58 to win the Men’s 100m Butterfly final. Phelps’ seventh gold medal at the Beijing Games ties him the world record set by Mark Spitz of USA at the Munich 1972 Games for most gold medals at a single Olympics. The Men’s 100m Butterfly is the only event in which Phelps does not hold the world record time but participates in.

Serbia’s Milorad Cavic timed in at 50.59 and took the silver medal while Australian Andrew Lauterstein timed in at 51.12 to win the bronze medal .
