Today's Flowers
4,212 views

This is a flower of the so-called Ladies Finger a.k.a okra in our language. My dad grew this plant in his old fish pond in our front yard. This is for my first entry to Today’s Flowers. I have posted this flower before but this time this one is a closer shot of the flower. Join us at Today’s Flower. Have a great week ahead everyone and enjoy today’s holiday!

2008 Aug 18 8What a pretty flower. Is this the same as the okra that we see here as a vegetable in the store? I have never seen it growing. Welcome to Today’s Flower!

2008 Aug 18 9I love your okra flower but I didn’t know it was also called a lady finger. I’m assuming that is the same okra that tastes so good fried like we eat it here in Georgia.

2008 Aug 18 12This is so beautiful and dainty looking! I love the way the petals fit perfectly together and the dark brown ring in the center – is that why it’s called a Lady’s finger? I would never have guessed it was okra.

2008 Aug 19 15Wow. So smooth. The colors are almost like they are made in butter.
Well, I went over and joined Luiz Santilli Junior’s flowers group and planted some flowers and they are already in bloom at my new blog, Thunder Maker.
It looks like I am going to have to try and catch up with everyone. So many blogs to stop at and make comments.
