These house sparrows or maya in our dialect are building a nest in the palm tree in the middle of our front yard. My nephews and niece were excited when hubby told them about it. They had been having their so called bird watch since to protect the eggs of these house sparrows. I just hope they would survive as my son CT likes to see birds in our front yard and even in our back yard. Seeing them would bring a smile to his face and I’d like to see CT happy and amazed at the new things he sees. He was pointing out to these birds when this shot was taken but we just stayed inside the house so as not to disturb them. I was doing some surfing in th net looking for a plasma stand online when CT was calling out to me wanting to be brought nearer to these birds. I had to do that later and carry CT in my arms so he can see them better.

Hi! They are pretty neat looking sparrows. They look big compared to our sparrows. Nice picture. I hope the clicks hatch for CT. Lisa

Wonderful photo! The birds’ colors are unlike any I’ve seen here (they would be, of course.) I love it when children are excited about anything in nature. I think they are born with the joy but, unfortunately, many ‘grow out of it.’ I hope these children will maintain their love of nature all their lives.

What pretty birds. Our sparrows are much more drab in colouring and their beaks are a different shape as well. It is fun to watch birds nesting from a safe distance. How lucky you are that the nest is near to the window! Great photo!
Have a wonderful weekend!
