Our daily uneventful life can be suddenly shaken with the so-called dreaded C as in C for cancer. We were at the Davao Doctors Medical Tower this morning for CT’s flu vaccination which we forgot was supposedly scheduled two weeks ago. We were so busy making preparations then for our transfer to the apartment that we missed the pedia’s schedule. Anyway while we were waiting at the elevator in the lobby, I can’t help but hear the conversation of two people behind us waiting in line for the elevator to come down. They were there to visit their relative who was hit by the dreaded cancer and this kind of cancer was called mesothelioma. It is an asbestos-caused cancer I heard from them. Any kind of cancer which hits a family member is a great cause of concern for anyone of us. That is why it is called the dreaded C for no one wants to have cancer. That conversation made me think somehow while we were waiting for our turn at the pedia’s clinic that we should never take our health for granted. My hubby this morning asked me why I was staring blank at the window as i recalled the conversation I just heard then. I pray no one in my family would ever have to go through it.
