John Carlo “JC” Tiuseco, a 23 year old hunky basketball heartthrob of San Sebastian University, indeed became first Philippine Sole Survivor as he was declared the Survivor Philippines winner.
That finale episode of GMA-7′s reality show Survivor Philippines was the most-watched primetime show last Friday, December 12. The said episode, where JC Tiuseco was declared the first-ever Pinoy Sole Survivor, generated a rating of 35 percent.

The rumors said a staff blurted out JC’s name in a coffee shop when asked who won as the Sole Survivor of Survivor Philippines. Well whether that was a rumor then or not, still the same it was JC who won. JC outvoted his buddy Robert Vincent “Rob” Sy, a 30-year-old salesman from Davao City. JC got 93% of the total text votes compared to Rob’s 7%.
The decision of the 8-man jury of eliminated former castaways Charisse Yacapin, Cris Cartagenas, Zita Ortiga, Kaye Alipio, Marlon Carmen, Vern Domingo, Kiko Rustia and Jace Flores was held at the GMA Network’s new studio building. Paolo Bediones the host explained that whoever got the first 5 votes wins and JC got that against Rob’s 2 votes.
Before JC was declared winner, he and Rob had to face the Jury members in a Tribal Council which was filled with tension. The Jury took the opportunity to vent their anger and disappointment on JC and Rob, pointing out all the mistakes they had committed in the last 39 days.
