January 2 Declared as Non-Working Holiday

Yehey for those workers and employees wanting to spend a longer than the  long holiday season 2008 since President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has officially declared next Friday January 2, 2009 as official non-working holiday as Malacanang announced in the morning of yesterday, December 24, 2008. So from an eight-day holiday season in the Philippines it has now become an eleven-day holiday season in the Philippines! Yipee!!!

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita made this announcement yesterday morning after Trade and Industry Secretary Peter Favila informed him of the President’s instruction. The President wanted the Filipinos to have a longer time to spend with their families and loved ones and enjoy the Christmas and New Year holidays. This is the longest holiday season in the Philippines yet as far as I can remember. So enjoy the holidays!

Merry Christmas
