Longer Holiday Season 2008 in the Philippines

Yes President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has made the long holiday season 2008 longer since January 2 declared as Non-Working Holiday as announced last December 24. Actually this makes it the longest holiday season in the Philippines with eleven-day holiday for workers in the Philippines.
Here is the updated list of holidays in the Philippines as posted in long holiday season 2008:
December 01 (Monday) – Bonifacio Day (originally November 30 but since it is a Sunday it was moved to the nearest Monday)
December 25 (Thursday) – Christmas Day (regular holiday)
December 26 (Friday) – Special non-working holiday (additional)
December 27 (Saturday) – rest day for government workers/employees and for some private workers/employees
December 28 (Sunday) – rest day for government workers/employees and for some private workers/employees
December 29 (Monday) – Special non-working holiday (additional)
December 30 (Tuesday) – Rizal Day (regular holiday)
December 31 (Wednesday) – Last day of the year / New Year’s Eve (special non-working holiday)
January 01 (Thursday) – New Year’s Day (regular holiday)
January 02 (Friday) – official non-working holiday as announced by Malacanang yesterday, December 24 morning by PGMA’s instructions.
January 03 (Saturday) – rest day for government workers/employees and for some private workers/employees
January 04 (Sunday) – rest day for government workers/employees and for some private workers/employees
