My mom and I went to the office of Lifetime Plans, a division of Pacific Plans Inc. this morning to accompany her to file claims. I have been quite worried and waiting for this day for quite some time now since the news broke out about some, if not most of the pre-need plan companies here in the country have been quite shaky with their business.

I have been praying hard that at least we get back what we have invested years ago from hard earned money. This is my first time  so I would definitely be disappointed if I won’t at the least be able to get the amount or cost of money invested for the pension plan which have been patiently paid annually for five (5) years and patiently waited to mature for another five years after full payment. The amount due is not much if one have big plans to spend it with but at least it will be a big help for some other projects. This is not my mom’s first time who has gotten benefits from them for the past years. Good for my mom that at least she has already gotten back what she has worked hard for to invest for.

Lifetime Plans Davao is moving to a new office in Central Plaza Building the one in front of Gaisano Mall Davao starting March 12 if I am not mistaken. Lifetime Plans is no longer owned by the Yuchengcos as I undertood and just found out a few days ago as I searched news about it online. The Yuchengcos have sold their troubled pre-need unit Pacific Plans Inc. (PPI) for P250 million to a group led by investment banker and Asian Spirit Airlines founder Noel Oñate. Oñate, who sold Asian Spirit in 2008, owns Abundance Providers and Investments Corporation (APIC). APIC director Rita Linda Jimeno said PPI will do business under a new name – Abundance Providers Entrepreneurs Corp. (APEC).

I hope the planholders, who ever owns the pre-need company now, will be able to get back all the money they have worked hard for in order to pay their plans especially during this time of economic crisis. Now I remember I have to go back there tomorrow to get those insurance quotes and just submit the other requirements.

I suggest you personally get in touch with the APEC office nearest your place. if possible visit their office. From what I know they will continue to send letters for those who still have payments to settle. Regarding claims, I think planholders should take the initiative.

someone I know who filed a claim for pension fund has been asked to wait for 45 days after filing the claim. it has been more than that about two months have gone by and still no call. no one is answering the phone in the new office. better follow up personally.

I just visited APEC Plans office awhile ago. Their Head Office in Makati is located at the 18th floor The Peak Tower, its near PBCom Tower Herrera St. fronting Lyceum College of Law, Valero St. You can try this tel. no. 8564050. I hope this info will be of great help. I’m also a planholder and I was not given prior notice of the buy-out between YGC & APEC. I was just informed today. The lady I had spoken with said that the buy-out includes the same employees and the terms & conditions in our plans remain the same..

I have the same predicament with those who gave comments earlier. First, the unconnected telephone lines that you indicated in your letter to us. It does not represent a truly Customer Action Center because it is unreachable.

Am from Tuguegarao, Cagayan Valley. Where’s the nearest branch of your office for which I can transact to? The travel cost to and from manila or ozamis city or any where else is additional burden on our part, and we cannot afford. Please bear in mind that this is a peak enrollment period. This is also the time we need the service you promised us before.

Please email me back. Thank you and looking forward to a harmonious transaction with you under a new management.

    Dear Mr. Noel Onate,
Please advise how to claim my Pacific Memorial Plan should the need arises since Pacific Plans is already another entity called APEC. For those in Cebu City, can the planholder present what your letter. Can you send me a new life plan policy under the name of APEC. You are supposed to send us a new policy, not just a letter of notice dated April 1, 2009.

I’m also a planholder of a pension and pepstar from PPI, i’ve been worried that my plans would just be wasted because of the recent news, but i’m still hoping that my plans are intact…in fact they (APEC)continously sending me letters of the status of my plans and also the new company. So i still hope for the best. God never let us down.
