HK columnist Chip Tsao, who called the Philippines “a nation of servants” and unworthy of claiming the Spratly Islands from China in his March 27, 2009 article in HK Online “The War at Home“, went to the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong last night to convey to the Filipino community officials and consulate officials his “most sincere apologies for the offense he had caused” according to Eduardo Malaya, DFA spokesperson.
Chip Tsao reportedly appeared in ATV, a HK TV network last Tuesday to make his public apology and said that he did not intend to hurt the Filipino people. He said that “I am now aware that I have crossed the line and I offer my public apologies.”
