The LBC commercial of Edu Manzano hosting a Spelling Bee which made me say “Ha?” when I first heard it, is being asked to be pulled out and be stopped from airing on TV since it is said to be “misleading and improper” according to the provincial board of Virac, Catanduanes Province which has passed a resolution calling on the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Movie and Television Classification and Review Board (MTRCB) to have the ad corrected or pulled out. The ad which is aired on prime time is said to corrupt the minds of thousands of children usually watching TV during these hours as we know children easily follow what they see and hear on TV.

Edu Manzano: “Spell remittance.”
Boy (Spelling Bee contestant): “Remittance (pauses for awhile) remittance, capital LBC remittance!”
Edu Manzano: “Tumpak! Basta pera padala sa hari ka na. LBC mabilis, abot kaya at convenient magpadala ng pera. Dahil nationwide network, easy pa magtransact. Dito ka na sa madaling espelingin.”
Boy (Spelling Bee contestant): “LBC!”

There are so many other misleading ads and shows on TV. If we try to pull out every single one of them, nothing much would be left. I guess parents should just guide their kids a bit closer these days.

may I say first to be pulled out are those so called premature political ads for 2010…

cguro if they just buy food for the poor people instead of paying for those ads, marami pa cguro magiging masaya, sure pa! pero naman for the purpose of sincere help for the poor at di para bilihin ang boto nila next year. :)

maybe they don’t understand why parent reacting this way, because it is really not right. It is not an ordinary misleading commercial. It can manipulated our children mind, no matter what we will say. They will keep on hearing it and will have a second thought.
