For this weekend, we went out yesterday to check out Robinsons Cybergate Davao which just opened last Friday – May 8, 2009. It is the first here in Davao City and since we need to go to the grocery so we decided to shop and dine there.

We found out yesterday that Robinsons Supermarket has opened through the streamer they placed near Victoria Plaza  so the newly opened supermarket in Davao was our first stop. It is somewhat like that of SM but more lights I suppose and cleaner since it is new though quite smaller or was it just crowded since there were so many people there last night. Why? There is an ongoing Robinsons Supermarket three-day sale on May 8, 9 and 10. The milk can we bought for our son there is actually cheaper by P2 compare to where we usually buy and since there is a sale, we were able to save about P5 in all. So if you have a lot of grocery stuff to buy then, it is good to shop there. Today is the last day of their 3-day sale.

I told hubby that we can do our grocery shopping there from now on since they are cheaper but if we count the taxi fare going there and back home, it is just higher about P10. But then there are fewer dining places to choose from compared to other malls or to the mall where we use to do our grocery. Maybe if they can add more choices of places to dine there, then it would be better.

The choices of dining place in Robinsons Cybergate Davao are: Bangkok Wok, Rai Rai Ken, Mang Inasal, and one of our fave Davao coffee shops Tata Benito’s A Whole LATTE Love which transferred from their first branch which used to be at the World Palace compund in Juna Subd.

After we bought some groceries at Robinsons Supermarket,we went up to see the other stores located in the right side part of Robinsons. You have to climb the stairs (there are two in both ends) to go to the second floor where you will find Fuji Film, CD-R King, H2O Salon and Spa.

We decided to dine at Bangkok Wok since it is new resto serving Thai cuisine in Davao and we have not tried it yet and we were not disappointed. They have great food! I love best their Gai Hor Bai Toey (Chicken in Pandan Leaves), it became both our favorite in this place. I’ll be making a separate post for more of our food trip there. It was also an advance Mother’s Day dinner out for us for I know there will be a lot of people in the restos here tonight.
