No More Hand-Holding in Church Due to H1N1
07 Jun 2009
Due to the H1N1 scare, the Catholic church as announced by Manila Archbishop Guadencio Cardinal Rosales, has banned temporarily especially during the duration of the crisis, close physical contact among all people who go to church because of the rising number of confirmed cases of H1N1 in the Philippines.
All parish priests has been sent with the advisory last Friday:
In view of the detected presence of the A (H1N1) virus in our country, Cardinal Rosales has ordered that for the meantime communion be received by the faithful only by the hand and that the holding of hands during the Our Father (The Lord’s Prayer) not be done.
In my personal opinion, I hope that the receiving of the communion by the hand will be a regular practice for health purposes. It is not only the H1N1 that can be passed but there may be some other diseases that may be passed through by people who are sick to other church goers as they simply may not be aware of or do not know at all.

Kaya nga I shoved hubby kanina sa mall when he tried to hold my hand… sabi naman nya agad “wala naman tayo sa church” LOL! Seriously I just hope the H1N1 will go away at wala ng mahawa pa.
