WS: Blessing of Fathers for Father’s Day 2009

We attended the afternoon and last mass in the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish which is within the subdivision of my parent’s house and just less than 5 minutes walk. We were surprised when the priest who celebrated the mass of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi called all fathers to come in front and be blessed because it’s Father’s Day. I was really surprised too coz all along I thought it will still be next Sunday. I never greeted hubby the whole day and we did not make any plans except go to my parent’s house to celebrate in advance my dad’s birthday which is actually on Tuesday yet.
Anyway, we were happy hubby was blessed in advance though I hope next week the priest who’ll celebrate the mass but probably not in this parish anymore, will also bless them again. On Mother’s Day, I along with all the other mothers who attended that mass then were also called to come forward and be blessed. It is nice to be blessed and have more blessing as a dad and mom.

2009 Jun 15 2We got surprised with the church’s blessing of fathers too as Father’s Day is supposed to be every 3rd Sunday of June. Anyway, another blessing will be a good thing:)
