Italian Eugenio Vagni Freed
12 Jul 2009
The Italian Eugenio Vagni freed finally early today, Sunday. The 62-year-old Italian was kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf rebels with two other International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) aid workers in a remote Philippine island in Sulu six months ago.
According to Gwen Pang who is the Philippine National Red Cross secretary-general, Vagni was finally released at around 1:05 a.m Sunday. Before he was released her have been suffering from hypertension and hernia. So we are just thankful he is free at last. We all know how great this news is especially to ICRC and Vagni’s family.
