In less than an hour from now, President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s SONA 2009 will be heard by the Filipinos and this  is expected to be PGMA’s final State of the Nation Address at the House of Representatives and she has arrived at the Batasan Pambansa then I see Speaker of the House Congressman Prospero “Boy” Nograles walking beside her.

I was listening to ANC and some of what the congressmen and senators want to hear from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s State of the Nation Address 2009 | PGMA’s SONA 2009:

• there will be no Cha Cha.
• the President to categorically declare that she will not run for presidency in 2010.
• the President to declare that there will be an election in 2010.
• the President to declare that she will step down from her position after the end of her term.
• the president will say that there will be no martial law which has been rumored.
• some don’t wanna hear about Cha cha in her speech.
• that the president to go back to her inaugural speech – the pillars of her governance and other matter that she has promised the Filipino people.
• that the president will state her accomplishments.

SONA 2009 will dictate the direction of the 2009 national budget according to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). As expected there are rallies being held all over the country in relation to the SONA. Despite the heavy rain, protesters are still on the streets. Looking back to SONA 2008, the President’s promise to cut back text message rates to P0.50 only lasted for three months. So most people were really disappointed.
