Switch off your lights for 60 minutes or an hour for Earth Hour 2010 on Saturday, 27th of March 2010 at 8:30 in the evening. This could be additional sacrifice for those experiencing the Davao Light: Rotating Brownout Duration Increased to One Hour anyway this is one time only for the sake of mother earth. You could make it a daily habit if you want though. It will be truly appreciated if you make it a practice.

It’s Showtime! Show what can be done to help save the earth from global warming. This will be the third consecutive year that the we will be involved in this kind of campaign, which is now said to be the largest call for action on climate change.

Last 2009, we had VOTE EARTH for Earth Hour 2009 on March 28, 2009 (8:30PM-9:30PM).

World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) said the Philippines achieved a milestone as it placed first in terms of town and city participation, with over 10 million Filipinos switching off their lights in 647 towns and cities.

This move saved an estimated 611 megawatt-hours of electricity, equivalent to shutting down a dozen coal-fired power-plants for an hour.

For 2010, the organizers targets “to inspire 15 million Filipinos in 1,000 towns, cities and municipalities to switch off and join in the revelry—in an environmentally-conscious manner, that is.”
