American-IdolWatching the American Idol Season 9 Top 9 Performance Night April 13, 2010. It’s Elvis Presley night and for the first time a former Idol contestant and runner-up of American Idol Season 8 Adam Lambert is their guest mentor for this week. Whew! He now looks like real beautiful star! Like his hairstyle dedicated for Elvis.

First off was Crystal Bowersox who sang Saved. Adam told her to do something fresh and she used a bejeweled and bedazzled electric guitar this time in her performance. Randy loved her performance. Ellen said it’s like a broken record to say she is fantastic as always. Kara said it is another solid performance. Simon said she choose a song that suited her, it was original and she sounded great. All judges impressed with Crystal as usual. Go Crystal! I wish though she would move more on stage if I may say that.

Andrew Garcia sang Hound Dog. Adam wants him to give more in singing the song, make it his song and change it. But I didn’t like his version of the song. Sorry Andrew! Randy said it was not good karaoke as predicted by Simon earlier. Ellen said she wished he put a little more swagger into it but thinks he pulled it off. She really liked it even if they have different opinions with the other judges. Kara said he got to own it for it is an Elvis song and she wanted to feel more from that performance. Simon said it sounded lazy, unpredictable, and like musicals it was that part which people don’t want to see. Simon also said the aweness was sucked out of him right there.

Tim Urban sang Can’t Help Falling In Love. Adam said it sounded pretty and he liked it. It sounded like a lullaby to me. Randy said it may surprise him but he actually liked it. Ellen said she enjoyed it like tequilla and that it was beautiful. Kara said it was probably her Tim performance from his heart. Simon said he managed to go from zero to hero in two weeks. It was a clean arrangement and he has taken their advice really, really well.

Lee Dewyze sang A Little Less Conversation. Adam said he has to be playful. Lee has the voice but he has to perform and indeed he need to be more expressive. Randy said he is definitely in the zone now. Ellen said made it more current, more confidence and he is getting better. Kara said he is serious and he need to be a little bit playful, more sexy and to loosen up. Simon said he nailed the song.

Aaron Kelly sang Blue Suede Shoes. Adam said he underestimated him but his voice was great. Randy said there was a part that he liked but there was also a part that he didn’t. Ellen said it was a big song to take and he did a good job. Kara said really liked it, it felt more current and young. Simon said it was like in HS and what is frustrating is that he did not make it young but much like karaoke.

Siobhan Magnus sang Suspicious Minds. Adam said she is really talented, unique and different which she likes of course. Randy said she has big vocals and she can really sing. Ellen said she liked the second half part of the song. Kara said was not crazy about her performance. Simon said she was like a completely different person. he said too that the first part was terrible, did not quite like it, very erratic, screechy and she lost who she were 2 weeks ago which I have to agree. Siobhan’s performances for the past two weeks were that good unlike before. Simon also added that this is not one of her best performances.

Michael Lynch sang In the Ghetto. Adam said he could redeem himself with this song. I hope that I am not wrong but I liked Big Mike’s performance. Randy said was a little sleepy but those were high vocals. Ellen said she was glad they saved him. Kara said it was a beautiful. Simon said it was a million…billion times better than last week. One of his favorite performances of Big Mike and it was a terrific choice of song.

Katie Stevens sang Baby, What Do You Want Me To Do. Randy said nice vocals and was entertained . Ellen said  it was a horny song and she could sing. Kara said she was confident. Simon said it was loud, annoying, and didn’t like the song.

Casey James sang Lawdy Miss Clawdy. Oh well he looks neat (his hair) tonight! Randy said in the zone nothing diff but a solid. Ellen said was not as exciting but he is always good . Kara said he. Simon said song was forgetattble but vocals was good.

Cast of “Glee” made appearances all throughout the show.

Oh Andrew I hope you won’t be crying in tomorrow’s American Idol Season 9 Results Night Double Elimination and Siobhan seems to be in danger of being in the bottom three. Double elimination tonight and judges have no more save options left.
