President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo tonight gave her Farewell Address to the Filipinos a week before the new President-Elect Benigno Aquino III will be sworn into office as the fifteenth President of the Philippines.

Here is the transcript of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s farewell address delivered on June 23, 2010 at the Malacañang Palace and broadcasted nationwide.

My fellow Filipinos:

We come together tonight as we approach a hallmark of democracy for our great nation: the smooth transition of power to a new leader. We have just come through a historic election. It was open and it was modern. As a result, we were able to declare winners in hours and days rather than weeks and months.

The face of politics in our nation has changed forever. Tonight I once again congratulate president-elect Aquino and vice president-elect Binay.

The news is true this time around and it is confirmed that Filipina international singer Charice will join the new hit American television series, Glee! Charice tried to audition for the show and she made it.She will play the role of a foreign exchange student that will give the character Rachel Berry played by Lea Michele a new rival.

A lot of Gleeks out there are surely excited to see Charice join this popular show which I get to see a little as I was following the American Idol Season 9. A lot of friends plus hubby’s boss is following Glee. I have yet to watch a full episode of this show and I plan on making a marathon watching the whole season one of Glee before the second season starts.

It will be days of staying up late watching the whole season and I might need after all that acnepril which is said to be the ultimate way to get rid of your acne. I have been trying not to stay up too late at night not just for my health sake but to let the lil boy sleep early too whenever he wakes up late at night seeing me still awake either working or watching TV.
