Nokia Windows Phones Available in 2012

Nokia Windows phones will be available on the markets by 2012 according to Nokia board chairman last Wednesday.

What will happen is that Nokia would partner with Microsoft and will adopt the Windows Phone software in its phones and devices to replace its own Symbian platform or OS to turn the “world’s largest cellphone maker into a pure hardware player”. Nokia aims by the end of this year to produce a phone with Microsoft’s operating system.

“These Windows-based products will be in the markets in 2012 onwards,” according to Jorma Ollila, Chairman of Nokia in an interview.

“There were Microsoft, Google and our own choice (to continue alone). And in addition to these we also had other suitors.”

What will be your take on this?
