Steve Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple. Tim Cook, Apple’s chief operating officer (COO) replaces Jobs as the company’s CEO. Jobs is said to remain as chairman.
That’s the news that flooded my Twitter as I read tweets upon waking up this morning.
Steve Jobs said in a short letter to the board of Apple, “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s chief executive, I would be the first to let you know.” (source) Jobs had been on his third medical leave since announcing his cancer diagnosis seven years ago.
