Senate President Manny Villar resigned as Senate President at the start of the Senate session today since he no longer has the support of the majority of the Senate he said. Senator Juan Ponce Enrile will be replacing Villar as the new Senate President. Villar was quoted saying, “I congratulate the new Senate President, honorable senator Juan Ponce Enrile,” he said. “You, Mr. Senate President have my support,” he said.Well I guess it is time for a change and do I hear some people saying “Yes we can!” But I guess this change in the Senate leadership opens up to the possibility of Cha-Cha or Charter Change again which would possibly lead to a longer stay in power as President.

Below is the full text of US president-elect Barack Obama’s Victory Speech in Grant Park, Chicago yesterday, November 04, 2008 after the US presidential election results were known. I was not able to listen to all of it yesterday especially the second half onwards. So here it is also for those who want to read it again and if for the first time what the 1st black president of the United States of America has to say to all Americans and to the whole world upon his victory in the 2008 US Presidential Election over Republican John McCain.
