Videos for the Sports Fanatics

I know there are a lot of you out there who are sports fanatics. My hubby loves watching online sports videos like boxing especially when it is Pacman playing, as well as golf and basketball. I often see him watching sports clips and it is often what he does when he goes online and there is sports event recently. A few days ago while I was hopping around the blogosphere, I saw this great site called SportsVids where you can download sports vids of the sport you like most.

For me, I have long been a tennis fan way back to the great times when Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf were at the top of their sports career. Lindsay Davenport, the Williams sisters - Serena and Venus and who would not know the sexy and talented tennis player Martina Hingis with her stage mom who named her after the great tennis star Martina Navratilova. Recently, hubby and I were follwing this video of the Federer vs Nadal Wimbledon 2008 championship where Nadal won and broke Federer’s dream of his fifth title. It was a great tennis match which was delayed by rains yet Nadal was set to win that championship.

Two more days before the much awaited Ateneo (ADMU) vs La Salle (DLSU) in Game 1 of the UAAP Season 71 Finals which will be this coming Sunday, September 21 at 4:00PM at the Araneta Coliseum.

These two rival schools meet once again after six years. They last met in the finals in the 2002 UAAP Finals and that time the Ateneo Blue Eagles won the championship beating La Salle’s Green Archers. Who ever wins between Ateneo vs La Salle in the Game 1 on Sunday of this season’s Finals is no guarantee yet of winning the UAAP crown, according to Norman Black and Franz Pumaren, coach of Ateneo and La Salle, respectively.

Here is the schedule of the games of the UAAP Season 71 Finals - Ateneo vs La Salle at the Araneta Coliseum:

The greatest Olympian ever now is Michael Phelps by winning his 8th gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympics with a world record swim by the United States of America team in the Men’s 4 x 100m Medley Relay. The Australian team took the silver medal while Japan got the bronze medal.

This win brings Phelps’ 14th career Olympic gold which makes it five more than any other athlete in the history of the Olympic games ever. So the next in line to break his record needs to win 5 more gold medals in the Olympics. Wow as in wow! Phelps is really amazing. Phelps has now surpassed the record USA’s Mark Spitz set in the 1972 Munich Games for the most gold medals won at a single Olympic Games ever.

Michael Phelps’ 7th Gold Medal

Wow Michael Phelps continues to amaze me as he gets his 7th Olympic gold medal in Beijing. He beats Milorad Cavic of Serbia with a new Olympic record time of 50.58 to win the Men’s 100m Butterfly final. Phelps’ seventh gold medal at the Beijing Games ties him the world record set by Mark Spitz of USA at the Munich 1972 Games for most gold medals at a single Olympics. The Men’s 100m Butterfly is the only event in which Phelps does not hold the world record time but participates in.
