Final score of Djokovic vs Nadal is 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 in favor of Defending Champion Djokovic. Nadal has lost the last three straight Grand Slams he has played. People thought Nadal was going to win but Djokovic came back and won this match. Congrats to all Djokovic fans! Well deserved win and his 3rd Australian Open win! Djokovic becomes 5th man in Open Era to win 3 straight Grand Slam titles.

I still say way to go Rafa! You gave this match a good fight Yes I am a Nadal fan and was rooting for him. If it had been Djokovic playing against someone else, I would be rooting for Novak.

This match is now the longest Grand slam final in the history of tennis beating Wilander/Lendl US Open 1988 final which was at 4 hours and 54 minutes according to the tweet from the @AustralianOpen. This Nadal vs Djokovic match lasted more than 5 hours and 53 minutes.

I am not fit to be a caddy either. I am just gonna watch if ever I would be able to have time to tag along my cousin. I remember I have tried to practice how to make a golf swing at one of the old golf practice course in the city. Golf may not be a sport for me but I’d love to tag along and wait for my time to play, that is if he let me.

The boys and I watched the game at home. A little disappointed but at the end of it all, we as well as their Filipino fans remain proud and it was not a very bad loss. Azkals midfielder Filipino-German Stephan Schrock’s goal scored around the45th minute.

The big Philippine flag was passed around the bleachers at the Stadium at half time after Schrock made that one goal that the Azkals made tonight to which the crowd stood up cheering and jumping with so much pride. They have made football/soccer a well loved and popular sport now here in the country. Many kids aspiring to be like them such as our little boy have learned to love football/soccer.

Azkals have made their fans as well as Filipinos here and around the world proud as they already brought honor to our country for coming this far in qualifying for the World Cup. For the first time in Philippine history if I am not mistaken, we were able to reach this far at the World Cup qualifying round. Azkals coach Michael Weiss said that the Azkals have the potential to make it to the next World Cup in 2018. With continued support for this team from people who believe in them, we can make it.

According to the news, the Azkals team will reportedly next see action in an international tournament in Taipei, Taiwan this coming September.

Spotted at the Rizal Stadium watching the Azkals game tonight were Angel Locsin showing support to her rumored boyfriend Azkal’s Phil Younghusband; Dimples Romana; singer Ogie Alcasid; Piolo Pascual; Jon Avila; and “Trip na Trip” host Kat de Castro.

Indeed the Philippine Azkals team made me proud tonight despite the loss. I did not feel that bad at all after the game. Go AZKALS! May you continue to make us proud to be Filipinos!

If the little boy likes soccer, then he might also be interested in baseball though they don’t play it in school. But I bet if he gets baseball gifts such as the baseball bat we once tried and the baseball we also found at the sports section of the department store, then he will love them. Playing baseball (only if we find where they play in the city) will be one option if he gets tired of playing soccer.

Watching the French Open 2011 Men’s Singles Final: Rafael Nadal vs Roger Federer now at the Balls channel with hubby. Nadal wins the first set against Federer, 7-5. Federer was leading at the first set then the next thing we knew, Nadal took the set to lead the men’s final match. In the second set of the tennis match, Nadal leads the match at 5-4 as of this writing. Yes the match is still ongoing as of now. Time check 11:05PM local time.

Nadal is the defending men’s singles champion winning the French Open 2010 against Robin Söderling.

Looking now at Nadal in blue and Federer in red makes think of the red and blue gnomes in Gnomeo and Juliet, out of the blue LOL! This just crossed my mind during the dull moments of the match.

In the women’s singles final, Li Na of China became the first Chinese Grand Slam winner as she became the French Open 2011 women’s singles final winner in her match against Francesca Schiavone of Italy at the Roland Garros court. Li Na also became the first Asian to win a grand slam tennis title. Schiavone was the defending women’s singles champion winning the French Open 2010 against Samantha Stosur.

While all their backup dancers were dressed in TRON: Legacy theme inspired lighted costumes that I liked and find it so cool.

I saw their performance but somehow missed it that Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am had changed a few of the lyrics in their song “Where Is The Love” (shown at 8:40 of the video) to send a message to US president Barack Obama. The message was (shown on the video at 9:17) goes as:

“In America we need to get things straight / Obama, let’s get these kids educated / Create jobs so the country stays stimulated.”

I sure hope this message will be heard by their President. I also wish our very own President Noy will do something more too on those concerns.
