Weekend Snapshot
Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao fever in the house this Sunday morning. This snapshot taken from our TV as Manny Pacquiao of the Philippines was interviewed immediately after winning the “Unfinished Business” fight against Juan Manuel “Dinamita” Marquez of Mexico, and wins a new record as the new WBC Superfeatherweight champion by a split decision at the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas.
Oh my we thought that he was going to lose even if he knocked down Marquez in the 3rd round and almost in the 9th round. Hubby was telling me during the later rounds that if the fight will be stopped before it ends in the 12th round, there was a chance that Manny Pacquaio will lose the fight. This was called their “Unfinished Business” fight going back four (4) years where the decision was a draw. It was a close fight now and even when Marquez was interviewed he thought that he won the fight. When the bell rang to end the fight in the 12th round, Marquez team put him up in the air. I being not much of an expert in their scoring system thought that Manny had lost it. But thank God he won the fight at last! Makes me proud that a Filipino won and brought pride to our country. Manny in an interview later on called upon all Filipinos to be united not only during his fights but forever. Earlier then he was seen talking to the President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and the First Gentleman Mike Arroyo on the phone congratulating his great feat. Congrats Manny on your first ever WBC title!!!
