UPDATE (11/26/09) – “Malacanang has apologized for taking back an earlier announcement declaring November 27 and 28 as special non-working holidays all over the country. Only ARMM will observe the holiday.
Press Secretary Cerge Remonde acknowledged that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s decision to make the two-day celebration of Eid’l Adha later this month as holidays only in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) was prompted by requests from the business community. UPDATE (old): President Arroyo has declared NOVEMBER 27 & 28 as national non-working holidays for Filipino Muslims’ celebration of Eid Al-Adha or Feast of Sacrifice. (source)

Yes President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has made the long holiday season 2008 longer since January 2 declared as Non-Working Holiday as announced last December 24. Actually this makes it the longest holiday season in the Philippines with eleven-day holiday for workers in the Philippines.
